Jolt's Quake 4 CTF League's second season is coming up, with clans currently being able to signup for the coming campaign!

The league will be run by implod, again along with help from Q4.Jolt admin's oxi & kleeks. The amount of clans being able to enter the first season is limited yet again, so I strongly recommend getting applications in early.

The map list will be chosen by signed-up clans providing their points of view on what maps should be played (in other words - it'll be decided by those playing in the league).

Season 3 is officially over!

The season, I'd say was a great success and lots of fun. The interest has been generally high throughout the season, few games ended up defaulted and only 2 clans couldn't make it through the entire season.

So looking at the final placing's, here are the clans who got 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each div. Going along from div's 1 to 5.

Overall winners: Team Dignitas
Wooden Spoon: impreZ

Final placings (Div1, Div2, Div 3)

1st's: Dignitas, dobo, KoS
2nd's: Qah, ISP, SDSR
3rd's: Reason, cae, HoT

I'm confident enough to say that interest in Quake 4 has started to stabilise. Hopefully the 1.4 final beta release will perhaps inject a bit more life into the community. Even though the community is small, I'd say that it is alive and healthy.

The servers have behaved themselves mainly throughout the season. There seemed to be little whine with the maplist too (always a good sign). The two improvements, which I will implement into next season are that 1) the maplist will be as a result of a public vote (so you can decide on them) and 2) the times will be different (Division 3 will be at 9:30PM with Division 1/2 being earlier). Although any changes will of course be explained closer to the time.

A huge thank you goes out to those who have helped the league run this season. Note able people include Kleeks, SDSR|DiGiTiZ, Pink, pling and JR404. A hug goes out to everyone who has adminned this season too; k1ck-eden, SDSR|Insomniac, KoS*BatWagon, HoT^ALT, M.Poil and ISP.Snuggles.

As for next season. Along with Summer, I receive an increased workload at work, coupled with some holidays I'm taking - meaning the league won't return until the fall of Summer 2007. Hopefully this will be long enough for 1.4 Full to be released too!

In the meantime, I hope that you'll take advantage of our public servers - hf!

The final week has come and gone!

Congratulations to all clans who have completed the season, you've all made it a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

One clan dropped out at the last hurdle due to member issues - but other than that and a couple of defaults, the final week has gone extremely well!

The penultimate week has come and passed. Onto the final!

Being honest, week 4 hasn't gone as well as I had hoped. There were a large amount of postponed games, leaving week 5 crammed full of games, which - unless they're played either Monday or Tuesday - will be defaulted.

We also have our first quitters! Clan infused left the league after loosing a map, there's always one!

So moving onto next week, all games (as I stated earlier) MUST BE PLAYED! There will be absolutely no overspill matches. Also, as it is the final week - no clan changes can be made to your clan lists.

An average week it has to be said. Quite a lot of games have got played, however the first default of the season was conceeded. We are however over the half way mark, with only two weeks remaining until completion!

The servers behaved themselves without any issues last week. My only worry is that some clans are falling a little bit behind with playing their games. The coming week will be make or break for them (eSlugs and impreZ).

Kleeks will be away for the next couple of weeks, so every league-orientated issue must be directed towards my attention.

Well, last weeks optimistic feel was right! This week has been a greatly successful week, with a large chunk of games being played.

After last weeks horror with postponements, this week couldn't be much different. Loads of games got played, including some catch up games. This leaves us so far this season without any defaults, a trend I aim to continue.

We had little issues also with the new "Rock n Roll Gibbin" map and some exciting matches on it too! Next week dawns the new Q4CMP7 "Caustic Burn" map, don't forget to practice (it's on our FFA servers).

I did notice that yesterday a lot of the servers were having 'auth' issues changing to a new map. We endeavor to get to the bottom of the issue and get it sorted by next week (strange that it's never happened before!).

Season 3 Q4Max Stats

A bit of a strange way to start the league if I'm completely honest. Although it leaves me optimistic.

It seems ClanBase had decided to force pretty much all of their matches tonight, which resulted in many postponements. However, funnily enough this did not affect Div 2, where 100% of games were played. Check the week 1 fixtures for the results & status of all PP'd games.

In division 3, c&b failed to turn up for their game and therefore have been kicked from the league and replaced by Spanish clan vMax. Welcome!

So with 6 games already mounting up due to postponements, the next few weeks will be busy ones. Dignitas, Reason, Mors and SDSR all have 2 games each next week (Check the fixture pages for details).

Only 3 days to go until season 3 starts!

I have updated the Server Settings page, which will display all of our core league server cfg settings. If you're planning on playing on another server elsewhere - the core settings must be the same!

There seems to be a couple of incidences where people are getting a tad confused by the times (damn us British and our GMT/BST :p).

The times displayed on the Fixtures pages are in 'British Summer Time'. For most European countries, you will need to add 1 hour to these times! BST means the same as GMT.

Division 1 plays at - 21:30 BST / 22:30 CET
Division 2 plays at - 20:30 BST / 21:30 CET
Division 3 plays at - 19:30 BST / 20:30 CET

If any clan requires to postpone, contact me directly via E-Mail and we will sort something out! The Clan List can be updated throughout the season up to week 4 - just drop me an E-Mail!
